I’m an author and researcher. I received my research training in the Work, Technology, and Organizations PhD program at Stanford University, and also have degrees in Sociology and Management Science & Engineering. My wife and I got fast tracked into parenthood with twins, and now have five children. I study and write about how technology and humans are getting along. I’m largely optimistic about our technological future, but believe, as with any good relationship, it is important for us to go into it with our eyes wide open. Technology can magnify our humanity, and generate amazing new human creativity through connection. But, there are also perils and pitfalls, and if we’re paying attention, it might even teach us a bit about ourselves.
